GT-STD-Web-Banner_300x2501In the spirit of Thanksgiving, it is time to reflect upon the blessings in your life and celebrate generosity. On December 2, 2014, as you are looking to share your prosperity, consider giving to Mom’s House of Greater Philadelphia. This non-profit organization understands the power and impact that education has on the lives of individuals and their families. Did you know that Mom’s House provides meals/snacks for all children daily while in their care? Your donation could provide nutritious food to an infant, toddler or preschooler.

Logo Development

planning

With a name finalized and domain purchased, I now get to focus on my favorite part…logotype development. I wanted to create a wordmark that appeared caring and approachable. I really like how I incorporated the “4” with the heart symbol. It makes a stronger, tighter unit than if I spelled out “heart”. The slideshow  showcases a snippet of the process.

What’s In A Name…Everything!

planning

I had been been struggling. I needed a name for my upcoming sabbatical project…2015 is fast approaching. I wanted the name to be catchy, connecting typography and inspiration. Typespiration. Awesome, but will a non-designer get it. Oh wait…it already exists. Time to refocus. Maybe I should pair the concept of imagery (I will be creating posters) with determination (the clients at Mom’s House have a ton of that: going to school full-time, working part-time and parenting…Phew). Visual Grit. Umm, no.

After months of racking my brain trying to come up with a unique name (with an available url), epiphany struck. Art4Heart Project. It marries creative expression with good will. Now I must register that domain name.
